At 16, I already wired school bands and made music myself. Today, I coordinate and check everything that has a cable and have been successfully doing so for many years. From planning to the final check and beyond.
Plan
In the beginning there is the idea, a green field, a bare space. Then comes the plan. Among other things, it contains the requirement analysis as well as the planning of resources, system engineering, budget and timing. Check: the more careful and precise the brainwork in the initial phase, the more stable the basis for the project success.
Do
Now comes the brain jogging. Because in this phase, the overall planning mutates into an organizational marathon. Step by step, the overall plan (the CAD), frequency coordination, safety concepts, personnel plan, load calculations, power requirements and much more is created. Would you like to know more? Check
No check, no show. This is the basic rule I work by together with my team. Only what passes the ultimate check is released. Loudspeakers, microphones, spotlights etc. – I make sure that everything works on site. Only when everything is working perfectly do I give the final go-ahead.
Act
We're about to get going. The briefing is ready. Everything is in place. The audience is going wild. The lights go on. And then the unexpected happens. That’s exactly what my team and I are prepared for. It’s a good thing we always have a plan B. So: the show can go on.
